I was born in S. Korea and, as a young child, art was the one subject I was drawn to and excelled at. I attended an art college in S. Korea and worked as a composer/graphic designer for 10 years after graduation. During those 10 years, I felt a pull to explore fine art in depth often spending hours on end researching and reading every book to learn more about it. When I moved to the U.S. in 1998, I decided to take my first steps towards expressing myself through fine art. I began taking classes from a well-known Korean fine art painter and converted my home garage into a studio so that I could immerse myself in this craft.
As a student of fine art, I have learned that there is beauty in all things - from a pile of dead wood that has fallen from an old tree on a Hawaiian farm to a field of gently rolling hills. My love of fine art has taught me to take notice of the extraordinary in every day of life. The moment I discover this beauty it is such a gift to witness and it is that beauty that I strive to share with others through my art.
I have lived in Pasadena and taughtchildren’s art classes part-time. Now I live in the heart of Korea Town in Los Angeles teaching art Classes mainly for adults. When I'm not immersed in art, I enjoy bike riding, listening to music, and watching classic Hollywood films.
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
